Given that temperatures have been rising noticeably in recent years, many people are not surprised that scientists are raising concerns about climate change. The summers are getting hotter and more intense every year, and the temperatures reached record highs last year. But something in the Atlantic Ocean has shifted.
The Atlantic Ocean has been declining “at a record speed” in recent months, according to scientists’ findings. This time of year, the Atlantic Ocean has been 1-2 degrees colder than usual. Even though it appears to be a little alteration, it is concerning since scientists don’t know why it is occurring.
As far as we’ve looked through the list of potential processes, nothing fits the bill, says University of Miami postdoctoral student Frans Philip Tuchen.
