When a mother cat rescued her kittens from a burning building, she entered a potentially fatal situation.

Firefighters saw the brave cat pulling her kittens out of the scorching structure one by one when they arrived at the Brooklyn garage fire scene.

After carrying her infants to safety and making five trips back into the flaming building to retrieve them, she touched each one of their noses to make sure they were still alive.

A firefighter named David Giannelli reportedly saw the courageous cat protecting her kittens on Imgur.

Scarlett sustained terrible burns while attempting to save her kittens from the fire. The post stated, “Her coat was severely singed, her ears and paws were burned, and her eyes were blistered shut.”

Most of the hair on her face was burned off. She was spotted touching each of her babies with her nose after saving them, making sure they were all alive despite her inability to see due to blisters on her eyes, before she passed out.

Firefighters from Brooklyn were able to put out the fire and provide Scarlett and her children with medical assistance. Regretfully, one of her offspring didn’t make it but the others were treated and found forever homes.
