It always makes me happy to see individuals go above and above to provide a little kindness to stray dogs because there are so many of them out there in the world, fending for themselves without any loving humans to return home to.
It’s wonderful to see people shielding stray dogs from bad weather—whether it’s extreme heat or cold or just a wet day—because they don’t have anywhere to stay.
A policeman recently gained notoriety for keeping two stray dogs dry during a downpour by using his umbrella to shelter them.
Last week, while on duty at a seven-point intersection in Kolkata, India, Tarun Kumar Mandal, a police constable in command of the East Traffic Guard, received some unexpected company.

With an umbrella in hand, Tarun was keeping himself dry during the intense downpour. When two stray dogs approached him, he was pleased to give them temporary shelter.
Now, the endearing scene has gone viral. Indian Express reports that a shot uploaded by Sayan Chakraborty, a photographer, was shared over 10,000 times on the official Facebook page of the Kolkata Police.
Some fan art was also inspired by it:
