The suffering that certain animals endure in life is terrible. Many dogs deserve a second chance since they are subjected to extreme abuse and neglect at the hands of people.

For example, Clementine the dog, who was thrown rocks and lost her eye, is now in good care and is searching for a forever home.

August 2021 saw the rescue of Clementine, a shepherd mix, by Kabul Small Animal Rescue. She was cruelly treated while living on the streets of Afghanistan, leaving her permanently traumatized. Her eyeball had reportedly ruptured from being rock-pelted when she was discovered.

After their clinic was robbed, KSAR had to perform the surgery by flashlight and with very basic equipment, removing her eye. During Clementine’s difficult period living on the streets, she also lost half an ear.

Her “sweet side shone through” and she recovered swiftly, according to the rescue, despite everything that had happened to her.

Clementine was a part of a group of canines that were sent to Passion for Pets Rescue in Maine from all over the world. She is one of just three people in that group, according to Newsweek, who haven’t found a permanent residence yet.

It seems sense that Clementine is cautious of most people after her tragic history, so she needs a certain kind of family—one that will be patient and take their time to gain her trust.

Passion for Pets posted on Facebook last month that “she exhibits resource guarding tendencies and is selective with other dogs due to her past as a street dog.” They continued, saying that she would thrive in a “calm household” and that “she does not care for other female dogs and should not be in a house with small animals.”

Clementine deserves the greatest home possible after everything that she has experienced in life. The rescue stated, “Clementine is a genuinely sweet dog that would make a kind and patient person very happy.” “She genuinely loves her people and genuinely desires love in return.”

Although Clementine’s story is tragic, it also demonstrates hope and resiliency. She is recovering and relearning how to trust despite having lost an eye to cruel people; all she wants is a home and a partner who will accept her for who she is.
